Resisting change.

Why is it too easy to fall back into bad habits and resist change? I ask this because one of my closest   friends has re-entered a cycle she had worked hard to get out of. It’s a vicious cycle that many of us don’t even realise we are in one or we do recognise it and resist against breaking free of it. Deep, deep down we know it’s not right and yet we bury that intuition while we try to convince ourselves otherwise just because it’s means we remain in our comfort zone. But at the end of the day it is still a cycle that will only end in failure-just as it did the last time.

Change does not come easy for us. This has to be our most stubborn and annoying trait and one of the hardest to break free of. If we want to progress in our lives we have to step away from the known into the unknown. We have to break free from the past! The past is the past. It will forever remain that way and it’s only purpose is for us to learn from. The lessons you learn will help to serve you as you grow. Take that leap and break free from what you know and once you do you will be open to new possibilites – which, have always been available to you, you just haven’t noticed them! And at the end of the day really what do you have to lose? Absolutely nothing and everything to gain from it.

As we end another amazing year why not challenge yourself to change something you are unhappy about in your life. Begin the New Year with a new you. Perhaps you can even start with your self worth. Know you are perfect the way you are right now. Know that you deserve all good things. Know you can achieve anything you set your heart to. Know you are amazing!

“Our past is a story existing only in our minds. Look, analyze, understand, and forgive. Then, as quickly as possible, chuck it.” -Marianne Williamson
