Dark Romance. A most glorious campaign by one of my favorite luxury online retailers has fast become my musings, mood and style inspiration for weeks on end. To be honest, I encountered the Dark Romance editorial a few weeks back, and I am not entirely sure why I refrained from sharing this. I was greedy, yearning to keep this punk inspired style editorial solely for myself.

Nowadays, when we envision vamp inspired style we immediately associate or visualise a particular look. Mainly one pertaining elusively with a dark stained lip and being heavy-handed with kohl lined eyelids. That seems to be the current definition of it these days. Thanks to the influx and surging popularity of another new trend, though it is horribly incorrect. For me the connotation of vamp when it comes to sartorial style is simply one of attitude. A strong, edgy inner confidence not bound by trends nor rules. And the Dark Romance campaign highlights my point perfectly and effortlessly. And all pairing nude lips, black assembled on black and strength to boot. Seemingly with access to an abandoned church in LA-LA Land it’s easy to intensify and accentuate those coveted grunge, punk rock elements. As does your pick of anything Alexander McQueen.
