when ebony met ocelot

It’s a tale as early as the dawn of time. Or more correctly the beginning of all sartorial rulebooks. Black, a transcendent and classic hue and animal print a standout statement. The two pair well together like wine and cheese or croissant with Nutella. Animal print (or ocelot print in my case) has blown exponentially on the street style scene of late. Not that it’s a pattern that ever truely dates, but one that certainly has its own fashion moments. And currently it’s slyly enjoying the limelight.

The backstory to this outfit was that just other week I jokingly commented on an Insta photo from Gabrielle from A Glass of Ice on a women animal print dress and about overusing animal and ocelot print and it got me thinking. Why not actually pair all my ocelot print? Well in truth, not all. My leopard print midi kimono remained firmly out of sight but my two ocelot print pieces from Witchery were a different story. And thankfully they were joyously content to see and welcome each other.

In truth this outfit is overly “extra” than I am used to. The goal was to attempt to push all boundaries yet remain comfortable and confident as only this ocelot print could conjure. Seemingly the accompaniment of Frankie, my unique watch, was a natural decision. Bold and sassy, who could resist in pairing classics with a timepiece that is also uniquely classical. This wooden watch has truly exceeded all my expectations; in both in quality and form.
