A very large percentage of all renovations among homeowners is the renovation of the spare room in one way or another. We may want to change it into an office, another bedroom or maybe a dressing room.  Sometimes the renovation includes adding toilets, breaking walls, upgrading existing elements, other lighting fixtures and the like. It may require electricians to put in a point for easier access to plug points. But all of this is just a little bit of everything that is important for you to know about a spare bedroom renovation. In the guide below you can read essential tips and good advice, for a successful spare bedroom renovation and a designed and practical space.

The more you are planned and know what you want, the more you can strive for it. You will find a home remodeller, remodelling contractor or plumber that suits your needs and you can define for them what is desirable and what is not. Among other things, decide for example whether you want a large dressing area. Decide what type of ensuite you might need – is a corner and economical in location or maybe a front shower. Among the additional highlights, decide up to the level of what types of lighting, wallpaper, floors, and curtains you want. Traditional brass? Brushed metal? Silver? As you can see, there is a lot to plan for and a lot to pay attention to. And all this, even without emphasising that everything must be measured, to avoid embarrassing and no less important, costly mistakes. You will be amazed at how problematic this issue can be. Make notes on everything and you won’t go wrong.

But what is a small renovation? In a small renovation, which requires a relatively small investment in money, it is possible, among other things, to replace a window frame or add some wardrobes, or to replace the cabinets. A major renovation, which is inherently more expensive, includes all the work we mentioned in the previous section (e.g., plumbing, sealing, lighting fixtures and so on). A small renovation can also include the replacement of a lighting fixture, mirror painting the wall – everything, depending on the desired result and budget. Renovation can cost a few thousand, but a complete renovation, including new walls, wardrobes, furniture and more can easily reach tens of thousands, due to all the added labour costs.

Any home renovation, including a bathroom upgrade, requires investment in work and investment in materials. Note that these two are separate and independent elements. This means that you can enlist the help of an interior designer, who will take care of the best carpenter and plumber and still you will not be satisfied with the result, if you do not pay attention to the quality of the materials.

It is very important to carefully choose the professionals you hire for your spare bedroom renovation. It is important that these are experienced, and recommended people. In addition, it is important to prepare a detailed outline of costs beforehand.
