Stress is, unfortunately, a part of modern-day life for a lot of people. Many of us live with a level of stress that is actually damaging to our mental and physical health. In addition, some people who are stressed have no idea that they are, as the stress has built up over time and become a part of who they are. This is a trait that needs addressing before it causes any harm. By learning how to deal with stress and reducing it, we can add years to our lives. It has even been linked to certain psychiatric disorders too. So, too much coffee is definitely bad for you. If you are prone to drinking more than five cups of coffee a day, then you need to reduce it. Swap for water, fruit juice or even decaffeinated coffee, or caffeine-free coke, for example. Less caffeine will actually help enhance your energy levels too while helping to reduce stress in your life.


Exercise is a key stress-busting activity. Not only does it naturally remove the stress hormone cortisol from the body, but it actually increases your happiness by flooding you with feel-good endorphins. Exercise should really be a component of anyone’s life, but if you are stressed, it is particularly helpful. Exercise is also known to hugely increase your energy levels, which can only be a good thing if you are constantly busy, running around after children and working, for example. Having that time out to work on you is essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle. 


Holidays are a great way to get away from it all. Holiday’s abroad or at the very least away from home are even better. You cannot be contacted to just quickly do something for anyone, you will get the week or two weeks recharge you need.
