Protein is the fundamental hallmark of a healthier lifestyle and getting more protein has an abundance of benefits. It makes you feel fuller, it has ample nutrients, and if you are trying to become fit and healthy, it’s a great way to increase your strength. But of course, we’re all aware of the benefits of protein, but we all demand more ways to incorporate it into our diet beyond the traditional meat methods. So let’s show you a few ways to get more protein in your diet.

BLEND INTO YOUR SOUP

Soup is one of those ways to sneak nutrients in. Blending food can break down any food into something more digestible. This also gives you the opportunity to experiment. If you are looking for something different that appeals to your taste buds, you may want to go a bit more oriental. For example, bird’s nest soup is a great way to cram more protein in using something very unique. If you are interested in bird’s nest soup, companies like Empress Nest supply edible bird nests to get you started.

KEEP NUTS

So many people are on the move, and if you’re trying to stick to rigid health and fitness goals, keeping your protein intake high is not so easy. One of the great things for anybody who doesn’t have a nut allergy but is trying to adhere to a vegan or vegetarian diet can benefit from nuts. Almonds or walnuts are great because you can use them either as a garnish on salads or an addition to your yogurt, but you can keep them handy when hunger strikes. While a lot of people talk about nuts being high in calories, it’s important to get away from this idea of calorie counting

STICK WITH QUINOA

Pasta and rice are high in carbs, so if you are looking for a protein alternative that feels the same, quinoa is a great way to bulk out your main meal, or you can even add it to salads and soups for more nutritional value.

DON’T FORGET PEAS + PULSES

From edamame beans to peas, as well as beans and legumes, there are plenty of ways to get more protein into your life. For those who are trying to stick to a vegan diet, you can use white beans, kidney beans, or black beans to fill out your meals with a lot of fibre.

UPGRADE YOUR PANCAKES

As tasty pancakes are, they are full of carbohydrates and little else. Instead, you can make a healthier version using protein powder, oat flour, and egg whites.

When you are trying to keep yourself feeling full, protein is the not-so-secret ingredient. But while we’re all on the lookout for more protein sources, sometimes we need to upgrade what we’ve already got or we need to look somewhere completely different. If you are just trying to lose weight, protein is a very handy alternative to carbs, but don’t forget, protein is the fundamental nutrient we all need.
