If you are getting married, you will already know that there is a lot to plan for your special day. However, it can be difficult to know where to begin. So read on to discover some suggestions on how to prepare for your wedding.

Decide who will be your flower girl/ring bearer – Let’s begin with the most obvious step to take; selecting who will be your ring bearer and/or flower girl.

Get prepared for your first dance – There are so many different options when it comes to the first dance. It can be a lovely idea to have a first dance as a family, rather than just you and your partner. You could start off with a slow love song, and then the DJ could switch the track into something unexpected. Your children can then come out and join you in a fun dance routine. Either way, some dance lessons would not go a miss.

Write your vows – One of the most important things you need to prepare for your wedding are your vows. You may want to write your vows to make them extra special. Alternatively, you can also choose some pre-selected vows instead.

Start cake tasting – This is one of the best parts about preparing for a wedding; trying out different cake flavors. From lemon to chocolate, there are so many delicious options that will work perfectly for a wedding. Have fun tasting the different flavours. You could even have a different flavor per tier.

Make some wedding DIY crafts – Rather than purchasing everything pre-made, you may want to have some fun with DIY crafts. There are plenty of different options availble, including stamping envelopes, putting together favours and welcome baskets, and writing your guests’ place cards. This is a great way of adding your own personal touch to your wedding decor.

Go dress shopping – Another fun part of the process is shopping for the perfect wedding dress. For a lot of women, this is the best part of the entire wedding planning process. However, for others, it can be quite overwhelming and even intimidating. The best thing to do is embrace the process. Those running wedding gown stores are there to help you find the perfect dress that makes you feel like a princess on your wedding day.

Watch live bands – A nice touch on any wedding day is to have a live band. However, do not make the mistake of simply listening to a rack or two online and then making your decision, Whenever possible, it is important to catch a gig, so you can get a feel for what the band is like when they perform live and the sort of atmosphere and energy they will bring to your wedding.

Start working on the guestlist – Last but not least, if you are getting married in 2022, you will also need to start working on the guest list. This can be quite stressful, especially if your family feels they have a right to dictate who is attending. Take a deep breath; it will all work out in the end.
