Humans are brilliant procrastinators. We know we have to do a thing, and we know we will feel a whole lot better when we do it, and yet, we don’t! Most of the time, this procrastination is not a major issue, but there are several scenarios where our inaction could cause us major problems. So, below, let’s take a look at the life stuff you really should not put off.

SEEING A DOCTOR

This is probably one of those areas of procrastination that most of us are most guilty of, which is not great because it is also one of the most important issues you should never put off. If you have a twinge or a weird symptoms, then you need to see your GP sooner, rather than later. It really is that simple, A failure to so so could put your health at serious risk and allow illnesses to develop and get worse, It’s so not worth it!

SETTING UP A BUDGET

If you do not have a household spending budget, then you cannot put off getting one any longer…well not if you want to take control of your financial life and not end up poor when you’re much older, that is. And, you know what? Setting up a budget like an adult has never been easier thanks to the abundance of apps that will do most of the work for you. No more excuses!

TACKLING YOUR TAXES

Tax season is the time of year when procrastination reaches an all-time high, and you know I’m right, right? But hey, why wait until April to panic when you can get ahead of the game and tackle those taxes like a true adulting champion? Whip out those receipts, fire up TurboTax, and maybe even treat yourself to a celebratory dance party once you hit “submit.” Who said taxes had to be boring?

DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS

It’s obvious why so many of us keep putting off those difficult conversations we know we need to have with everyone from our bosses and co-workers to the people we love the most in the world, But, you know what the longer things go unsaid, the more likely it is those relationships will break down, so be brave and start the conversation now.

DECLUTTER YOUR SPACE

Let’s face it, we’ve all got that one junk drawer (or maybe three) that’s overflowing with random odds and ends. But hey, clutter is so last season! Channel your inner Marie Kondo, grab some trash bags, and get ready to declutter your space like a boss. Who knows, you might even uncover some hidden treasures buried beneath the chaos.

WEIGHT LOSS

If you need to lose weight, then you will probably have a million and one reasons why you can’t start now from your birthday to a stressful work week, but you don’t have to jump in headfirst, just commit to reducing your calories intake by one item of junk food a day and you will be off to a good start. The sooner you start, the sooner you will be healthy.

Procrastinate away when it doesn’t matter, but when it does, you need to make yourself do what needs to be done if you want to be as happy and healthy as you can possibly be in life.
